February brings around the Lewes Polar Bear swim & run.

Aron chose to run this year with some good buddies.

I think the paper said there were 700 runners. I did not see

that many but it was a pretty day to walk the boardwalk and watch the race.

They ran north from the Avenue down the boardwalk

and around a neighborhood then back. Three of the front row came in first 3.

Most were high school kids. Just saying......

Superbowl was fun. Katie came for the adult group.

Emily, Jake, Chad and Aron were here for the youth side.

this was one of the ice sculptures at the Polar Bear run. It was so warm they were melting fast. I have been fussing with the blog sight today so I am not sure how this will play out. The next one will be about a very special lady in my life.

We went to Rehoboth Beach Monday for lunch and to walk the boardwalk.

(This is looking south of the Avenue)

I love the board walk off season. It is so peaceful and everything is so blue!

Today we saw that they were replenishing the beach sand.

They suck it out from the ocean floor and spread it on the beach.

It really was quite amazing to watch. If I remember right I think the old

beach ended between these pipes somewhere. I know it was not very wide.

This tug boat was driving right up to the sand and then it would back up, turn around and start again.

It only went so so far and turned around again. Back and forth back and forth.

I was taking pictures of the ocean floor.

This is all was happening north of the Avenue. You can see the sand coming out of the pipe (below).

It was very windy and cold so we did not really hear a lot of noise.

I think the cage probably caught big pieces of treasures!

These poles by the bulldozer thingie marked where he would turn around.

Again back and forth they would all go.

And in the end, if we don't get a major nor eastern this winter,

we will have a beautiful new wider beach to fill with lots and lots of people.

But until then I think we will go a few more times this year to enjoy it all by ourselves.

Note: I tried to post this with more pictures and I guess it was to many because it wouldn't let me.

So the post before this is the rest of this one. The big tricycle thing was amazing to watch. It was past the bulldozer, past the tugboat. The man said it was mapping the ocean floor.

The people complain they have no beach and then they complain when this runs

into the warmer weather. It was probably in the 20's yesterday with the

wind chill.

It really is a good thing they are doing.

After Christmas and before New Years Kyle and I ride to

Chincoteague Island VA. It sooths our souls.

And this year it was simple beautiful out!

I love just to ride around the island. The sun was shining and the people were

out. Just not like the summer time. But still there were a lot of people out.

And who could blame them with 62 degree weather!

I was setting the camera up and Kyle was posing.

We walked a trail that we have wanted to walk for awhile. It is always

so hot out when we camp we never do. Plus this is a wet land

area that attracts the mosquito's of Chincoteague. They are the size of a humming bird.

We take the back way into the island and go past potato

farms and new expensive developments. They seem to

keep a good balance. I always love this view. I love the ocean a lot but

if I could live near water it would be on a bay or a lake somewhere.

Today is 1/2/12 and tomorrow Kyle and I have to go back to work.

I have been off two weeks and the weather has been great.

I wish we could get snow for Christmas but I also love this weather

we have had. It has been a wonderful vacation!

ok so Katie, Adam & Brennan did not come Christmas Day but

I am grouping them in here. Brennan is quite the chatter box these days.

He is such a wonderful father.

And lastly last night right before dinner (of course) the temperature

rose, the wind picked up and the rain came down. After two winter storms and a few hurricanes

we lost electric. Now I am not complaining one bit. If it has to go out this was a good temperature

to do it with. Anyways, Kyle got the generator out and started it.( Thank you dad for buying the generator and having the insight for mom and all of us) While I went to get mom to come down to do her nebbi he set the kitchen up to her comfort. He is the best. But when I got to mom's she was already snug as a bug in bed and did not want to come down. The phones were out as well. I argued with her for a bit and realized she was of sound mind and fine. She promised not to fall out of bed. I came home and the trucks were on the road doing their thing. We had electric around 9 something.

All is well and electrified in Delaware once again.

Dinner Christmas Eve was smaller this year. Lots of life changing

around us, family young and old moving on. But we are still family.

It was pretty neat to see and read. We just need to make a few adjustments

Thanks Clay it made my night!

Kyle bought us bikes for Christmas. We took a short ride

down the road. This is going to require some much

needed practice. I wondering why he was cleaning out the red shed?

I hope you all had a Merry Merry Christmas. I know some are

still enjoying family time together and that is a wonderful part of Christmas.

We are off until 1/3/12 and I am looking forward to relaxing and kicking back

the next two winter months.

Lets get this Christmas story started.

It was about 70 out and Lady and I took a walk.

It was so beautiful out!

But that night a cold snap came through and the wind picked up and the next day

I noticed the Santa hat and beard were gone.

So tonight Lady and I took another walk.

Thanksgiving Day

Well once again we are having trouble with the computer so I am

posting from another. Shhhh don't tell anyone.

Kyle started early Thanksgiving stuffing the bird.

He did good with not lifting it. Wade was the official bird carrier.

He really does have to much fun doing this.

But it was very yummy!!

Mom mom Betty rolled the dumplings.

Kyle's two youngest brothers Kevin and Dean hung around after everyone left.

We enjoyed football, and The Pumpkin Chucking show.

Becky and Clay cooked Thanksgiving for her family.

They ate on G & G Slaight's dining room table in their

newly painted dining room.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Now on to CHRISTmas!!

Kyle came home from the hospital Sunday. He is doing good. Monday

was a BEAUTIFUL day so we decided to ride to the deserted beach.

I love to walk this town in the winter.

It was sunny, 70 degree with a nice breeze.

Walking is really one of the best things for him to do right now and that is what we did.

Rehoboth Beach Bandstand.

I know towns are busy and you have to do things when the weather

is good, but I hate seeing Christmas override Thanksgiving.

I guess you know it is a pet peeve of mine so I won't go into it. They do not light things up

until after Thanksgiving so that is good.

I just don't remember dad hanging things up early because of the weather.

I do however remember him saying every year it was nasty out - that he would do it early next year!

The beach was gorgeous!! And no one was there!!

A little Rehoboth History

More history and umm umm good!

We walked, we shopped and browsed about books.

It was very relaxing and healthy.

Fresh salt air and blue skies.

Just what the Dr. ordered.

And yes it was tiring. We came home, ate lunch and took a nap.

That too the Dr. ordered.

Kyle is doing great and I go back to work tomorrow.

I LOVE this man!!!! I don't know how else to say it.

He is the best thing ever for me. He has the biggest, most loving heart ever.

so I am going to post about him. Right now I am sitting in the hospital with him while he sleeps away a surgery. For the past 4-5 years every fall Kyle has gotten sick with diverticulitis. This year twice. The doctor said enough and today they removed about 12 inches of his large intestine. It was done laproscopy and now he is sleeping. Recovery will be qicker with this surgery. He will have a liquid diet for awhile and then gradually introduce solids. He should be good to go for Thanksgiving. If not we will celebrate later. We had chicken & dumplings Sunday for dinner to tie him over.

So here is a little history for you.

I met Kyle in 9th grade and we started dating in 11th. We broke up and went our separate ways. We stayed very close friends. All a long I knew he was the one. I never stopped loving him and I do believe he felt the same way.

So we got together again while he was away in college and the story leads us to today. We married, raised 3 wonderful boys, went back to school more education and better jobs. WE LIVED LIFE TOGETHER AS ONE.

Now we find ourselves in the "middle age" group. Where we are slowly emptying the nest, slowing down in activities and enjoying different ones. We are enjoying each other. We work at the same campus and eat lunch everyday together. Some might find that boring and restricting but we love it and miss it when we don't.

Saturdays we ride around and get into something and Sundays we go to church and have our family day.

Are we in a rutt? I think not. We are however more in love then we were 30 years ago. Wow!!! 30 years. It seems like yesterday.

Ok enough rambling. Back to Kyle. He is a man who stands straight and proud, who would give you his last dollar and still care for his family, he respects and dare I say makes me feel cherished. He does so much for me, the boys, family, friends, strangers.

He walks with God and through that he lives.

I have to say this surgery scares me a little. It is a 1st major for us. I have been with God in prayer and felt God with us. Thanks be to God.

I love you Kyle!!! Get better soon.

Halloween 2011 we handed out candy to Trick-or-Treaters

at Clay and Becky's new home. Clay was working at the Buttery that night

so Becky was our gracious hostess with the most-ess!

She put up with a crazy lady, her hubby and 2 sons.

This of course is the front of their new home.

What did we do in October AFTER the wedding?

We went to Luke's 2nd birthday party!!

He had a lot of characters there!

Aron bought a 2010 Liberty Jeep. Very nice. His explorer is up for

sale. Any takers?

The Haynie's built a shed.

I did a little decorating. This is the 1st year in over 13 years that we have not

camped at Trap Pond. It is a bitter sweet thing.

But thats ok. Appently we are not the cause of the rain at Trap Pond evey

year. Yesterday it poured all day LONG!!! The poor kids. Usually it rains and

clears up the day of trick or treating. But I don't think that happened yesterday.

Kyle and I would have still been there if we could have.

I saw the other day on FB it is hard to get a picture of a black dog.

So I tried. I think this is a pretty good picture.

But Lady does have a little gray on her now days. She is 11.

My next post will be on the Serman"s new house on Halloween night.

Lets start here. The day before the wedding.

The reception was held at The Nutter Marvel Museum in

Georgetown De. We all went to help set things up and returned Sunday for clean up.

A quiet moment....."is everything right"?

April - his first day of the rest of his life.

Sept. getting ready to be sworn in.

Aug. graduation day.

What I had wanted to do from the get go was shown Arons progression through

the acedemy. I had to snick pictures of him to get any good ones.

For 22 weeks Aron was up in Dover from 5 a.m. Monday - Friday 10p.m.

Weekends were full of study time, laundry time and sleep.

Then he would start all over again.

Now he starts work on a 6-6 shift!

I should be down now with this post and all ready have a new post in thought for the end of Sept:)

It was very exciting to see your son in uniform. He looked so handsome and proud.

There were 29 men and 2 women in the class. They ranged from State Police, Municipal Police And Park Rangers.

9/10/11

We went to a wedding. One of many that I knew of on this day.

A couple from church got married on 9/10/11 at 12:13.

Now that is some thinking.

Richards family is from Mexico. He and Brooke were married in our church.

It was a beautiful service with a mixture of American and Mexican traditions.

I walked out of there feeling that they were very committed in their future.

It truely was beautiful. The family presented her with a Bible (why don't we do that?)

He gave her 13 gold coins for the deciples and his wealth. I think that is right. And then

they lasoed them together while they exchange their vows.

I t was very moving.

Has it been two years? Where has time gone? We run here and there, we work, we sleep, we live

and bammm time slides by. But we have a great time & each day is a blessing. We couldn't be happier for you two and all you do.

Labor Day in Delaware. We have always had a hot dog/hamburger

picnic for the Bell side on Labor day. The next day we woke

early (I mean early) to get the boys on the school bus.

Some things never change. The first day of school for us girls in Delaware started early. We were on the bus at 7 a.m. to ride only 5 minutes to the school but it tooks us an hour plus to go the country blocks to get there.

Some things never do change here. The boys caught the bus the same time as we did some 25 odd years later.

We still celebrate this day that way. We know our days are numbered until the cold weather comes in. We start to slowwwwwwwww down this time of year.

Any how, this is Kyle's new charcoal starter. And no it does not excite me.

NOW ON to important things.

Aron Redmond Serman was sworn in as a Delaware Police Officer for the town of Milton last Thursday. He will graduate the Police Academy on 9/16/11 and start his new career.

He will be working for the town of Milton. A nice historical town in Sussex County. It seems no towns are small and "Leave it to Beaver" anymore but this one comes close.

Hurricane Irene 9/2/2011

We did everything we normally do. Packed up things that would blow around,

stored extra water, bought food, toliet paper and beverage. Kyle made sure the generator was working

and then we gathered our loved ones.

They brought animals. Becky had to work so we had Rocco (Clay was with her in Salisbury).

Lady claimed her spot right away.

Walter had a great time! Katie's Sandy was here too. Poor Kitty was locked in our

bathroom. Rocco was very curious about the kitty cat.

The kids have grown but they still come:) I love it!!

Emily and Luke were here for the adventure too.

Rocco took over Walters bone. Never a dull moment!

The rain came, the wind came, and it all brought tornados.

We don't get many of those in Delaware but these hit the beach area pretty good. But nothing like out midwest.

Still that was the part that made me the most nervous. You can't predict those thing on where they will go.

Hurricanes you can at least kinda judge.

Mom's corn had a rough year and this did not help to much. I will probably get picked soon.

I took my feeder down so it would not be blown off and broke but the humming birds kept coming up to it.

So I put it back up and they ate all through the storm.

Aron was home:)

crocs are not a good shoe in the rain.

I told Patti not to worry about the camper. If it blew across the field the tree line at Kims would stop it from hitting her house.

I am very glad it stayed put!

And after it was all over and we slept through a peacefully night....Kyle got up and did what he does....

cooked us all a wonderful hot breakfest!

We are so blessed with him!!!!

I am so excited I am even on my blog that I am not going to worry about how it looks. So many things are different in the past 2 months. I am just going to try to go with it and update you all. I tried not to put alot on facebook because I would really rather post on here.
So today is Aug. 30th. In early Aug we went on our yearly family camp trip to Chincoteague Island. We have been coming here with 3 other families sense around 1993. This year it was a Macklin visit. Patti, Adam, Katie , Brennan , Clay , Becky and Katie visited.

There were quite a few Ponies in the campground this summer. We always go the week after the Pony Penning.

Friday we took advantage of a dog friendly rest. for a late lunch. They just loved Rocco. Who doesn't?

He was tired of being left in the truck I think.....

The kids enjoyed oyster shooters. They had to work for them with bottle openers.

YUCK!

Night fire and conversation. Katie later wooped us in cards.

Kyle teaching Brennan how to throw dirt bomb at dusk. All I could here was dad and Barb.

"Its to dark and you will blind someone".

Sunday morning we toured the island and found ponies still at the park waiting to picked up by their new owners.

Brennan was amazed... for a minute or two.

We said our good by's, Pattie stayed for a while longer. Kyle and I camped till Tuesday.

It was wonderfully peaceful:) I love this little town.

On we go to little Ava. She turned one the end of July and started walking soon after.

She is such a joy. There is no feeling like a baby hugging you. Unless of course they are your children of any age.

Mom calling a meeting to order. It was a Sunday and we were discussing wedding things.

She is really getting into this. Now if the hurricanes will stay away we can follow through on some of the orders she ordered!

Hopefully I will be back and soon! This is really a good ending to a trying day.

Well I can only work on my blog from a different computer than the one at home.

I will leave you wondering where that might be?

SO for the July posting I chose family. July seems to be a time we get together for

one reason or another and it may not all be in the same places. My family has grown and moved away

and are now having their own family days -vactions.

This picture is of my mom's parents. Thomas & Lillian Slaight.

Pattie, Kyle and I were able to get to New York and visit with Julia, Tom, Kate, Bryan, Cindy and Ava.

She is the cutest thing.

We also saw Aunt Betty and Aunt Ruth. It is always great to go back to the home land.

For the 4th we had a BBQ Chicken picnic and had more 2nd generation than the 1st. It was a good feeling

that they wanted to be around us "ole folks". I wish I could post pictures of the day. Although

it was very hot and humid it was a great day ending with -yes- a bon fire!

What a beautiful spring we are having. April showers bring May flowers , so they say. We did not have very much rain all of April.

But the flowers, trees and bushes have all been super pretty these past two months. This post is for your spring viewing pleasure. With guest appearance from Rocco (chasing a salamander) and lounging Lady.

Happy Easter 2011!!! I am very late with my April postings. I am sure you have all been waitin on the edge of your chairs.

It has however bothered me. I tried to do a slide show/power point but I could not figure out how to get it to the blog sight.

So on we go.

Adam, Katie and Brennan came down before Easter. He is such a cutie. I will let you decide which "he".

I am a kid at heart and it is hard for me to give up certain things.

Every year I gather who ever wants to and we dye Easter eggs. I am always looking for a new way to decorate Easter eggs.

This year I found these "Twistables" Crayons.

They worked really good. Some of the stuff out there is just to messy. These worked really well.

The Bell's arrived Friday and while we were all decorating the eggs the Haynies pulled up.

As soon as Tom put it in park and got out he was digging a hole for a couple trees he brought.

They will look very nice when they get bigger.

Rocco found a new friend.

This one ...... hummmmm. The sisters sat around the table Saturday night and talked,talked, talked

to the wee hours of the morning.

We had great weather all week and could enjoy the outdoors.

Charlotte and I went for a walk Monday at the state park. It was pretty warm and

very nice. I would like to walk it again in the fall.

Friday's BBQ. We had white hots and family.

hummmmm the next day we were....sitting around......when Sophie ran out to the car and climbed in.

Me being me and having my keys locked in the car at one time or another, by me, each one of the boys and possible a dog........

I followed her out there and made sure the doors were not locked.

HOWEVER!!!!! I must have hit the button when I shut the door.

Jim was a VERY good sport and said he need this test. I felt bad and still

can't figure out how it happened. I saw the keys in there and made sure the button was unlocked.

I proably hit the button more than once when I should have just GRABBED the keys.

Luke was having a good time with everybody and really enjoyed Sophie.

Things I love about April.

Well What can I say. I LOVE THIS MAN!! For 29 years we have

been together through thick and thin. And I have loved every moment!!

It is late but it is finally April. I can't believe it is the 16th already.

How did time get away from me so quick?

We woke up one morning to turkeys in the field. And as the law of hunting goes...

turkey season opened two days later and they have not been seen sense.

Another is Kyles DTCC green house flowers.

He has two big houses filled with flowers grown by the classes.

They go on sale Monday to the public.

They have big pots.

Little pots.

Lots and lots of plants.

and vegtables. The locals love him in the spring!

This is a hydroponic house growing tomatos.

This house is growing cucumbers, green peppers and

egg plant yummmmmm!!

All from just water.

Two other things I love about April of course are......

Barb my lovely sister , Kate my lovely cousin and Colin my wonderful nephew.

All had birthdays on the 9th and 10th. I hope they were all as wonderful as they ARE!!!

There is nothing about a pot and spoon that a baby does not like.

As you can see.

I had a wonderful birthday weekend. It started

with babysitting sweet Ava Friday.

My men cooked Saturday night. Shrimp and chicken.

Very good I might add.

We visited with good friends.

Becky's birthday is the 27th so we celebrate together when possible.

We went to a favorite junk lady of ours and found this wonderful bargin.

It needs some sanding and painting but it is very comfortable.

I just need to keep Wade out of it.

My wonderful, talented, beautiful sister made me a counter top runner

for lack of better words. I love it!! It is just the right size and the colors are perfect!

I took mom to lunch Monday and we had a great time. Very relaxing for both of us.

I love her so so so so much!!!

Wednesday morning the temperature was wonderful.

So I sat on our front porch and drank my coffee.
It was so peaceful.

As the sun peaked the trees it lit up Kyle's waiting garden.

Saturday Walter stopped by to say hello to Rocco and Lady.

Sunday I played with my camera. Some times I have it and sometimes I don't!

And best of all Kyle built me a frame for a porch swing

Tom sent home with us after a visit to the lake.

The boys were all off being busy so it was just Kyle and I.

But we worked it out.

And we worked it, and we worked it

and we worked it!

But in the end....after two days of fun in the sun.....

There was a swing, a man and a dog.

Then another dog and the man's wife.

What a beautiful week we had.

Sunday morning Kyle and I went out to breakfest in Longneck.

After we ate we road down to Massey's landing.

This use to be just a boat ramp where dad would put his boat out to go to the inlet/ocean.

A few years ago they revamped it and it is a really nice little peaceful

place to go and look out over the water or stand on the walk way and fish.

After this weekend in Japan we realize just how close we are to water.

A few weekends ago I showed picture looking from the ocean highway to the bay/Millsboro area.

These are shots looking from Millsboro to the ocean.

When the new Indian River bridge is finished we will see nothnig but lights over the inlet

at night time. These post will hold hundreds of lights stringing from the top to the bottom.

Ok, I tried but my link won't work (or my spell check I am finding out now).

You can google the C & D canal in De to see what the bridge

will look like.

This is looking towards Dewey Beach and the WWII towers that go along

the shore line. The Atlantic is just on the other side of the tree line.

AND IT IS MARCH!!! BASEBALL season.

HAPPY 26th BIRTHDAY ARON!!

We love you very much and are so proud to have you

for our son!!

Aron just wanted a quiet dinner for his birthday so after long day

that's what we did. Kyle fixed grilled chicken on salad

with home made bread crumbs, then we had cake and ice cream.

What a beautiful morning it was today. Kyle was out and about

early so I sat on the front porch drinking my coffee with Lady Bee

and the bluebirds!!

I was glad to see a nesting pair again. They stay around all winter

but move more freely around the neighborhood when the fields

are not planted.

As I looked towards the east this was my view .

The sun rays were shining through the gray clouds.

Here is a double rays breaking through.
This was probably around 7 a.m.
Kyle wanted to work the garden so we went down to the barn for
the tractor.
LOOK what I rescued!!

They had them done by a friend in Florida. I am guessing in the early 70's
They were in their room at dad's and when they pasted - I guess nobody
like them (they creep everyone else out here).
They were packed away down in the barn.
I have always been amazed by them. They are so life like. Especially
Grandpop Al.
There was the cutest mouse living in one of the heads. So I have them out back till it
gets warmer out
and I can carefully clean them up.

Meantime Kyle started working his garden.
He loves this time of year. And I love to smell the
fresh turned over dirt.
This spring I WILL get my swing put up so I can look in the garden
(yes I do help some in the garden)
and the field for a sunrise cup of joe.

Plowing - for this we had to move the bluebird box a few feet.

But we will put it back in the right spot for nesting.

Its amazing how the simple things in life make me feel

so good. And Kyle is in spring heaven right now.

February is on its way out. I can't believe how fast it went.

I am ready for spring. This shows me I must be ageing. Never before have

I wanted a season to stay or come quicker. In the fall I was

not ready to give up my sandals and now I am ready for warmer and longer days.

I do love all the seasons and always welcome them but now I am leaning towards

the warmer ones.

So that being said .....Kyle and I usually ride the ocean highway in the winter.

Its a beautiful ride any time of the year - just less traffic.

This Saturday it was very very VERY windy!! ( as the whole winter has been).

There were white caps on the bay!

This shot is from Dewey Beach Towers rd and looks towards Millsboro.

The power plant stacks are in the back ground.

Then we went on the beach in Fenwick. Fenwick is a great

family oriented beach. The last beach heading south in Delaware.

We could barely walk because of the windy and sand blowing.

We also had a visit from Ava and Pop Pop Gordy.

She is growing so fast and is the best little girl.

We love her lots!!

I get to baby sit while Pop Pop goes kayaking with Tom

in March. I am so excited!

And to finish off the month Becky and Clay came over

last night and cooked us dinner. It was a Thai Chicken Noodle Soup.

Different but good.

As big as the kitchen is there is little walking room for the cook and or cooks!

"Build it and they will come"

and the dogs love to be right under foot.

I just went and sat in the living room. The one who doesn't cook is relaxing.

Mom's 82nd birthday!!

And the gang was all there (at some point and time during the day)

Jake had subs with mom for lunch and then the rest of us

went down after dinner for cake and ice cream.

Super Bowl Sunday!!! I hope your team won! Mine did:)

We had the ladies over this Superbowl.

Pattie and Diane are trying to get the TV tuned in.

Rabbit ears have changed in style but not in the job.

Kyle was busy in the kitchen frying chicken wings

and

making a cold pizza pie.
It was all very yummy.
We also had pulled beef and pork, salads and snacks.
No one left hungry.

And in the end it was just Wade

and mom in her cheese hat and pj's.

We were pleasantly surprised to see our daughter

on a tv commercial during half time.

I am sure she is loving this post.

AND THE WINNER IS.............

Delaware Tech had a chili cook off to support the students and the

Super Bowl. Anyone could enter, judge and sample the chili.

I think they had around 18-20 different chillies.

Vegetarian, hot, sweet and sour, Mexican, Texas, chocolate and Kahlua

just to name a few.

Each person set up their own station with their favorite team

and any toppings you would want.

Kyle was part of the FFA team.

They had trophy's for 1st and 2nd.

Kyle came in 3rd.
But we all know he is the #1 cook
around here!!

Two students came in first and second.
It really was a good time, a nice break in a normal work day.
I think DTCC will see it again.

Well it seems that Kim's lot keeps the snow the longest.

(and yes this is my new camera "working") Everyones snow can melt but Kims lot will still be white.

This is the snow we had last Weds. We were lucky I guess. We just missed the curve

of the storm. Up state was pounded with 12 plus inches.

If you look closely BIG Black is getting a do over.

Now I won't see a giant black robot out my kitchen window.

Kyle was working on it last Sunday but it got to cold.

He is at this moment trying his hand on deer jerky again.

Wade shot a young doe with his bow Friday night.

Saturday Pattie had a birthday dinner for Adam. He turns 31 on Feb. 2.

As you can see Kyle was beside himself not getting to cook.

He finally settled in and relaxed. He is to funny.

Cake time and Brennan was ready. He is growing so fast and of course is

overwhelmed by the adults needing a baby fix. But he did well

and kept us all happy and satisfied.

He like rearranging the candles on the cake.

I know I am jumping the gun a little bit on February, but January went by so fast I can't believe there is only one more day in it!!

Alright, so I could not figure out how to do a slide show.

Any help would be appreciated....

I tried to decorate tastefully.....

We HAVE to have the "princess crown" for any 50 year old,

the pins, shot glass, the name tags I found and thought were good,

the glass I made for a change up. There were concerns of "toxic" substance on the glass

but I figured....hey she is 50!

(joking - I made sure it was safe)

Our friend forever.....Chuck was bit*# texed for not playing
for Pattie's 50th. Little did she or Chuck know that it was all in the plan
for the 15th not the 4th.

It was a hard day. We said good bye to a good friend, a husband, father,

a brother.

It was a very sad day but I am sure Tony was smiling knowing he

destracted Pattie a little that day.

And the princess of the day was......Patti. Bless her heart her birthday fell on a Tuesday
which is one of her longer days at work.
So we sat and visit for awhile before we had subs.

Then we had gifts. I am not sure what card or gift these two are
looking at but it had to be a good one.

After having a 2 week Christmas vacation it is time to go back to work.

The "party is over".

The first week we shopped and prepared for Christmas and

all its Glory. We celebrated Christ's birth and all it means.

The second week we played vacation. We did what we don't do in the summer time.

We went to the beach!

We started with a trip to Rehoboth Beach Delaware.

There was snow on the ground, it was windy and cold!

But the beach was empty and beautiful. This is the view north of Rehoboth.

The WWII war towers still stand. We use to be able to climb them in the 70's.

You travel from Maryland to Virginia.

You could tell when you were in Virginia. The roads were terrible!

We crossed the new bridge on to the Island.

It is so much nicer now pulling the camper with the new bridge.

A seafood business that is closed for the season.

Then we rode farther south to a dingy flea market we went to in Sept.

We girls went to moms.

Later on (early in the evening) we had some fireworks. Pattie and Katie came down.

but way to short. I know how children are when they are around people they don't see a lot.

So I just sit back and wait for a smile for me.

Christmas 2010

Rocco had it all under control.
Christmas Eve Becky and Clay were preparing their dish.
Dogs on hand in case they are needed.

Ava's 1st Christmas so I put some headgear on her.

She did not seem to mind at all.

I have a huge bowl of different headgear for people to put on

if they wish. By the end people were wearing them.

My heart smiled.

This is the family. Minus Pattie and Jake (who were home

with the flu), Anna and Seppi. Guy Jr brought some friends from the

Dover Air Force Base who would have other wise been on base.

I was very glad they came. Not to sure how they felt after all the quizzing

by family. I am not good with names so they were

After Ava chilled out and giggled on the floor.

She is so cute!

Somehow I missed Santa's arrival this year.

He was very sneaky and tired:)

We have had this cross for years. It is made from the steeple of the church kyle grew up in.

I think his dad made them or bought them for all the boys.

This year he thought to put it on the tree and I knew right where it was.

That is a miracle in its self!

Kyle got his deep fryer and loves it.

He made some delish homemade FF last night.

They were yummy!

Wade found his Droid Pro in his pj pocket.

He is very very very happy!

Oops. Mom and Kyle were hiding in the dining room.

We had a wonderful Christmas here in Delaware.

I hope you all did too.

It started snowing Christmas night and we ended up with

about 10". Kyle and I road to the beach today and I will post those later.

We went to Clay and Becky's for Clay's birthday.

We had a great relaxing time.

I can't believe my baby is 27!!!!!

What a magical Christmas it was and has been sense.

I will always remember bringing him home Christmas Eve

and spending the night at mom and dad's well Kyle worked

We walked in while Clay was making his eggnog.

We opened his gifts.

Ok lets see if I can get this right. This is my second attempt

on this posting. And I think I have a few duplicates so bare

with me.

Last weekend we put up the outside lights.

It was cold and windy.

With a little team work " we got er done"

Then on Sunday we were on to visit the ones
we love and miss dearly.
This is Clayton's namesake . They are Kyle's grandparents
on his mother's side. I am not sure of the proper terms.

Each year I make a grave decoration from the cuttings
of dad's Christmas trees and other local trees and place
them on their resting place. Mom mom and Pop pop are in Millsboro.
Franklin's have one daughter, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grand children - and
one great great grand child. The great's arrived after their passing on.
But we feel her watching over us.

Yep this would be the duplicate.

Onward north to the Veterans Cemetery north of Millsboro to dad.

Dad liked blue or is it we liked dad in blue? I am not sure

but this looks pretty close to the blue eyes I remember.

This year I added scotch pines, hydrangea and magnolia

from mom and dad's yard. The holly this year is not looking to

good. I think the birds have already picked the trees clean.

This is not good.

I also added some bird food to dad's seeing there is still snow on the ground.

Its ok in the winter when food is harder to find but in the summer I don't

think the caretakers will go for it.

Dad raised 6 children, has 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grand children with 2 on the way for 2011.

I think that is right:)

On to Georgetown. Where Dad's parents Grandpa Al and Grandma Tink Bell

are layed. It saddens me when we leave this cemetery to think of all the

young and old I say hello to that rest here.

They have to their family tree
2 children, 9 grandchildren, 20? great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren with

2 coming in 2011. I am not sure off hand about my cousin's children but I think this count is pretty accurate.

Kyle's dad Eddie ....how he is missed. He is a retired state trooper

and loved father. He raised 6 wonderful boys to men.

With 10 grandchildren and 1 great grand child he is watching over.

Mom Mom and Pop Pop Serman. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Kyle's grandfathers.

They both past on right before we moved to Del. But I feel I know them both

through the boys. I also hear a lot about pop pop Ed from the Georgetown

community, friends and church family. He was a big man and a teddy bear.

I believe Wade is 50% dad and 50% Kyle's grandfather. Mom Mom Doris was

a school teacher who received her degree from Madison College

when it was an all female college. She passed right after Aron was born.They share one son,

6 grandsons, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grand daughter.

(Man I hope all the great s are right.)

These are the people we love, people who passed on, people who

still very much touch our lives. In that spirit I see and feel

Christ love as it touches us and grows.

I know this is late. It seems like a month ago but it was only last week!

It has been a very very busy Thanksgiving and the week to follow.

So lets get on with it.

This is Kyle taking a "breather" from the preparations.

We are posing for the camera. I am still not happy with this camera .

I had it set on the tri-pod for the day and was trying it out.

Kyle smoked a turkey, baked a traditional turkey, Pattie cooked the ham, we also

had - green bean casserole, mac & cheese, onions, stuffing, potatoes, dumplings,

sweet potato casserole, a cornbread dish, turnips greens, mashed turnips, corn casserole,

cranberries, sweet potato biscuits, rolls, pulled chicken, pineapple dish, peach cobbler, broc casserole,

peanut butter cake, choc pie, pecan pie, apple pie.............

you get the picture. I need a bigger space!

We had table seats for everyone.

Becky's parents came and joined the fun. It was great to have them
with our clan.

Finally!!!! I have tried for two nights to download the

costume parade pictures from Trap Pond Halloween.

This is what you get.

Kyle and I walked up to watch and ended up

being judges. Judges with a girl we graduated high school with

and have not seen in 25 years! But of course she looks the same.

This is no easy task either. Last year we judged the pumpkin decorating and costumes.

You have all ages and category's.

So I ended up with these few. I believe this is the 0-3 year old winners.

Mac and cheese in a bowl, tin man and a fisher man I think he was.
ummmm this is 8-10 maybe?
They do all ages, pets and family's. The main family group were veggies.
Last year it was a dental theme. All to cute and so hard to pick!!
(the benches in the back ground are an Eagle Project from Troop 95)

So forward we go - onto Thanksgiving. The Serman Family wishes you all
a Very Happy Thanksgiving.
We are looking forward to having around 30 some family members
here. I wish there could be more!!!

They say this is the last year for Halloween at

Trap Pond Delaware.

As you see it has been 20 years and this is the first

t-shirt made. John designed it and they sold

for $10.

I think we have been going for 16 years. We have had with us through the years

the Macklins, Katie, Kern's, McCabe's, Conaway's
Brenda, and many others that have camped for that long.

This year it was just Kyle and I.

No kids.

No neighbors.

We decorated our corner site. It looked really good at night time.

Kyle cooked his tri-tip. Mike Bell loves these so Kyle
asked the local butcher and waaa -la!
It was yummy.

I caught a few gorgeous
sunset views.

Each year they hand out pumpkins to the kids to decorate.

They had many left over so I asked if a big kid could

have one? They gave me two!

I am going to cook the seeds today:)

We enjoyed white hots for lunch.

We dressed for the event of handing out candy to over

500 kids!!

And of course "sealed it with a kiss"

My lonely pumpkins.....there are usually at least 6!

We all merged into the Bell's casa (is that right? Castle?). Not long after we all

arrived to Santa Rosa Mike and Charlotte opened their

home to the clan.

Long lost cousins were reunited.

The men gathered in the corner for a cigar.

Mike loves his cigars.

The first day Kyle and I road and road around Santa Rosa. It is a lovely town.

We walked around and around and finally found what we were

looking for.

Antiques.

We all went to the Bell's before rehearsal. Those that did not go to rehearsal

went to a Mexican rst. It was very good and handled a big table with ease.

They even treated us to a after dinner drink:)

During the travels we all (most) used our GPS gizmo's.

Ours however was always interrupted by back seat drivers correcting the driver.

Which bless his heart was Kyle.

THANK YOU Kyle for all you put up with.

Soooooooo Friday Kyle and I jumped into the car with Julia and Tom to go see the coast line.

Tom soon became our "Tom Tom".

We put the box away and listened to the live version for the

next few days.

The coast was beautiful! I love the color of the water, the rocks in the water

and the hill sides at the water.

Delaware beaches are really looking very eroded now that we came back.

We need to save our beaches.

Introducing........Mr. and Mrs. Casey Clark!!!!!!!

What a beautiful ceremony they had.

Straight from the heart.

It was a lovely warm October day in 2010.

A wonderful day to start a new life together.

I new when I took this picture of the "cousins" that the

light would be there...sorry.

During the toast.
Nancy was so beautiful and Casey was quite the handsome groom.

The time has come for Mike to show off his dancing moves.

I don't think there was a dry eye in the room.

This is Charlotte BEFORE the moment hit her. ( I do have that picture Charlotte)

Her dress was so pretty.

Her and Mike were quite the couple all decked out.

After we packed everything up and went to the winery shop.

That made us thirsty so we unpacked it again.

Bonner visit 09/2010 The Delaware Aunts and Grandma

were able to meet Kristin, Linden and reconnect with

David, Barb and Duane.

It started out rocky with Duane arriving and not feeling good.

Then it rained and it rained and the wind blew and it rained some more.

We have not had rain for weeks and weeks!!

So thank you for bringing the rain with you.

Of course the day they left it was gorgeous.

Linden took to Pattie and Katie. I on the other hand

had to wait a few days. But that's ok, I understand babys.

She is still lots of fun to watch and look at (from a distance).

She was after all pretty much mobbed by us all. Katie during

the days and Pattie and I at night time.

I was always around at bedtime.

She is adorable and a very happy little girl.

Mom and I did get to babysit while everyone went to church.

Once it was bedtime mom took over and rocked her.

Of course we argued over who was better at that.

And mom finally pulled out her magic "wammie"

and she fell asleep.

This was one of those special memories I will cherish forever.

Mom rocked, sang, and talked to Linden (for longer than we should have).

Listening to mom and the love in her voice touched my heart.

And that was all I needed from the visit. Those hours alone with

the two of them were wonderful.

I was course was the one to walk her upstairs after she fell asleep.

I am happy that that was a success!!!

She slept through the night like an angel and so did Linden!!

We had a busy week outside of the visit. Kyle was preparing for a

FFA soup and sandwich fund raiser. Which was awesome!!!

We were

all able to gather for dinner Thursday night.

The baby, the kids, the new kids (Becky, Kristen) the

sisters, the brother in laws, and grandma.

We missed Katie and Jake. Both out earning their $$$

Mom has learned how to use my camera. I am actually getting the hang of it

and this was a trial run before the wedding next week.

My house seems to be yellow in the pictures. I am sure I have a setting wrong

or something.

Friday night I realized I did not get a family picture.

So As all were headed upstairs or home and took this one.

Barb and Duane you are truly blessed.

Your family has grown leaps and bounds with all the love you two have shared and lived.

They are passing that on in their lives.

Chincoteague Island weekend 2010.

It was later than normal, all the kids showed for the whole

weekend and brought friends. As we did. We also had Lady with us

for the first time sense she was a pup. BIG difference!!!

But she did good. Hard to get in and out of the camper

but she did good.

Just imagine six adults and two dogs in the camper sleeping:)

Lady guarded one way and Rocco the other.

Our camp site was secure .

We woke early (no doute) and Kyle cooked all breakfest.
It was a beautiful weekend but storms were off the coast.
We oppted to stay inland to shop, play games, and sit by the pool.

Some things were forgotten. So we made do.
One game was make shift frisby golf. The kids spent more time
making it then they did playing it.
But it worked. They also played Billy golf.

Another was a cork screw. SO what do you do?
You go on line with your phone and figure it out.
Aron did just that and was very determined to succeed.

And he did. We had wine when we got home. We carried an open bottle
ALL the way back home without spilling it.
It was of course a red wine.

We celebrated Kyle and Franks birthdays.
I won't tell you who is older, just that Franks brothers
birthday was born the same day as Kyle and graduated with us.
Katie came and stayed for dinner after touring the Island.

The kids bought seafood and talked Wade into an oyster shooter.
"Try it you will love it"

Our lovely daughter inlaw had a great weekend. As we all did.

I told the kids if authority of any kind complains to us about

our children this time they are on their own.

We have many great stories from through the years of camping here

every summer. Kyle and I are looking forward to what the future

campings will bring.

After the kids left, Becky and Frank left, we took a ride down the Eastern shore with Rocco.

We went to "Bills Rest" for a birthday lunch and then

settled in to watch the Redskins.

The campground was empty and very peaceful. When we walked at

night with Rocco we heard full timers talking about the game.

Surprisingly they were Redskin fans.

We will go back.

Well I am not sure how my post for our "baby" weekend

starts out with the newest dog on Deep Branch Rd? But it does.....

This is "WALTER" - Jake's new puppy. He is adorable and so soft!

Lady shunned him and won't even look at Pattie when we walk down there.

It is to funny. All I can think of is Lady is thinking

"dang it! another little dog that is face level!
So on we go.............

This is my precious great niece Ava Lynn

She will be 3 weeks old this week and I love her so much!

She is so tiny and cute. I got to feed her Sunday
and just sat and held her while she slept. When she wasn't
sleeping she is quite the wiggle worm.
I did try to get her to wake up a little bit......

We love you Ava!!!!!!!!

Now on to Brennan!

Big "B" turned 1 years old on the 10th. Katie and Adam had

a family party on Saturday.

Just like his dad, Brennan did not have his nap and was still a

happy little camper.

He is a happy little man!!!

He was not quite sure why they put a plate in front of

him and they just left it?

Once he started to dig in and heard all the laughter

and joy he went to town.

I love this picture.

Aunt Pattie (Seabolt) gave Brennan a Tickle Me Elmo that

the young and old alike loved.

Katie and I gave him the same toy. That's ok, they have 3 levels so they

can leave one on each floor.

It was a great weekend all in all.

What a wonderful future we have to look forward too.

Tow beautiful young souls to help guide and watch grow.

15 Oak Street To me this is home. More than Fairport, more than Michigan.

This is where my childhood memories are from.

Geneseo New York. My mother's birthplace.

Grandma and Grandpa Slaight moved here after Uncle John was born(I think)

Up till then they lived and raised their 5 children on the family farm.

Mom and Aunt Betty were born on Oak street.
You can raise a girl in the city but you can't take the country out of her.

My grandparents finally resting place. It is a peaceful place

in Geneseo. Up around the corner from home.

I was surprised after 19 years I could still find the stone and get us around

the country side.

Two of my favorite people.

Uncle John AKA "Uncle Milk" later in life he was "Uncle Bud".

When I stayed there I loved milk and he would give it to me so

he became Uncle Milk.

Aunt Peggy was quite the lady. Always loving and shopping.

I really miss hearing their laughter. That is what is great about this family

they are all full of laughter and love.

Grandpa was the county treasure for forty some years.
Thanks to Aunt Ruth we found the portrait that still hangs
in the new Treasury department behind the court house.

We visited with Uncle Bill and Aunt Ruth on the farm Monday.
First we road up past the farm and visited the cemetery
where my great grandparents Nora and William Redmond
are buried. Also it is where Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bill still attend church.

We went for a 10 minute hug and stayed for a while longer.

Which would include lunch with Aunt Ruth's homemade

bread. Ummmmm great! We asked for a few recipes and

received them in the mail a few days later.

What a great visit we had. It completed my visit back home.

These are memories and really more a feeling of love in my heart I have carried all my life

and hopefully I passed on to my children. And they will pass that

on to their children.

Family's are a wonderful thing. It is an unconditional love.

After 19 years with Christmas cards between us, I feel the love.

Time has pasted and we are getting older but that just makes the love stronger.

Every night we walk the dogs and I see this view.
I wanted to try to capture it and this is a few of
the 20 shots I took.

I loved this dogwood. Every year it would bloom standing
by itself and every Christmas I would put lights on it.
I just can't bring myself to tear it down.
I think I could actually push it over if I tried hard enough.
So as we walk I look at it and wonder. But I still see the
beauty of this tree.

The same with our country's flag.
It waves proudly in the sun, wind, snow, rain, good times and bad.
Giving us all strength as we think of the vast meaning of it.
Where it flew, where it was carried proudly and hidden for safety,
those who died for it and the caskets it covers.
This Father's day remember all out fathers.
They stand proudly as a dieing tree
and live in the freedom of our flag.

Which we enjoy (freedom) on our porch at night. No matter how hot
or wet, we gather on the porch to talk. As the day winds down we relax.
The birds are chirping, the dogs are sleeping
and the
young sons come out and sit with us.
I love it
AND
we love you Kyle, you are strong like a tree and wrap your love
around us like the flag. Thank you for all you do for all of us!

And as I said on FB. Dad gave us these Rosa Sharon's. These blooms
came out for
Fathers Day weekend- on one bush.
They line the back yard and only one bush bloomed. These
are still the only one that have come out.
Thank you Dad for sharing and spreading your love.

Lady was exhausted after a day of Rocco and then a night of celebration.
My boys (young men) are growing up rapidly.
Life does not slow down. You are young, in love, married,
raising babies, schooling, graduating, working, marrying,
What a wonderful cycle of life and love. I can't wait to see what God has
in store for us all next!!!

Moving out of Grandma's and into the Serman apt.

One U-haul truck equals four trucks and a trailer.

But we did it all in one trip on the hottest day in years at the hottest time of the day.

ahhhhhhhh to be young again......

We convoyed down to the beach.

Rocco was to busy stalking squirrels in Grandma's yard.
I think they were playing with him.

Mom found the perfect spot.

She served us ice cold water and wanted to feed us snacks.

Always the gracious host.

Becky and Clay's kitchen.

They replaced the carpet and are going to pant the walls.

Clay and Becky had to scrub the walls to get the dog Oder

out but all is well now.

two bedrooms and 2 baths. It is a very nice place in

a very nice neighborhood.

I think they will be very happy .......

once they get together full time again.

Memorial weekend 2010 This would be a pork butt on the grill

This would be Katie's turkey she got free when she bought
her new phone.

This would be Kyle's 3 yes count them...

3 Weber grills, we bought the 3rd for $10 at a yard sale Saturday.

Also, there is his big chicken grill and his other big grill.

All charcoal!

Soon to add the gas stove he bought and not to mention all the propane

stoves he has in there. Oh yeah and the small beach grill!

He worked on his extension this weekend too.

Resting and relaxing.

And then there was the other event this weekend. Clay and Becky were suppose to move things

down so Becky could move into the condo. They arrived around 4 in Lewes (which was pretty good traveling considering the weekend) When the Realtor came in let them in the place

still reeked of dog wee wee. They had shampooed but it was still very very bad.

So the choices????

Get up with the owner (not till Sunday), they will replace all the carpet with new and

if that does not work they look for a new one with out loosing their money.

Soooooooo where to go from there. Clay had the U-haul till Monday and the Realtor would pay for it till next weekend. BUT................... they had to have it re-serviced by the company because their contract ended Monday. Well where do we do that????

They would have to drive it all the way back to Wilmington De (1 hr south of Phillie and return point) and back down to the beach. Keep in mind this is opening weekend for the beach summer traffic.

So the next choice....call Grandma. She was willing to store their belongings in the garage

and living room until HOPEFULLY this weekend.

Aron.... is he moving out or in??? We may never know that answer!!

Not to bad. It all fit and will be safe and dry.

Tune in next week to see where they may be.

Becky loves her job, misses her husband, and lives for the weekend.

Rocco is surviving the Serman household and Lady has come around.
Rocco loves the country, new smells, frogs, salamanders, "squirrels"
birds, anything else that moves.

Clayton is staying busy with little furniture, classes and work. Keep him in your prayers

that he may be blessed to find a new job back down home.

3 amigo's

Kyle has been working hard the past week or so.
These are all flowers that his Ag students and he
grew in the Del Tech college green houses.
Aren't they wonderful!! I was going to name them for
you but he is not here to confirm.
So now it is time to entertain and BBQ!

I Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. We did!!

The food was great and the company was wonderful!!

All the Lady's wore lays instead of corsages. I don't know how Gordy

was sat down with his dinner before all the ladies were?

But I will cut him a break, he did raise 3 wonderful kids by himself.

Becky feels if she wears hers on her head it will ward off the babies for awhile......

Sorry Becky I couldn't resist. Love you.

Wade is giving lessons on how to eat Kyles ribs. Man were they good.
The weather was cool and windy so everyone ate inside.
The wind has been the norm here all year it seems.
Not good for those effected by the pollen.

Kyle baked this choc, peanut butter cake.
It was scrumpdillieisous!!!!

Gathering around the table after dinner. It was a great day and I enjoyed myself.

I could feel the love that everyone shared.

My church had a Lady's Tea in early May.

I left the invite with mom and she said she would like to go.

So all the Bell girls went. No the roof did not fall in.

This is the hat contest, the lady by Katie won. I

did love that hat.

Where am I Toto ???

The group, each table had a host who decorated the table with their own things. They were all different and beautiful in their own way.

Our Host was Pattie T who everyone knew, we took up most of the table.

After it all was over we figured out Pattie had won a door prize.

They said someone had a cupid sticker on their chair. Pattie's looked

like Roses, so they moved on and picked some one else.

After a closer look with old eyes we saw cupid in the roses. Or so we think.

This was a great relaxing afternoon with my family, it could only have been

better if Kim and Barb were there with us.

Wade is letting Aron cut his hair.....Can you guess why?

Is it full of ticks? Or Nat's nesting (like when he was 3)??

Is it because he is NOT using his brain????

This took a while with all of the brillo pad up there.

But when Aron was done we had some adjustments to make....

And he ended up with the 3 year old hair cut again!!

But the reason his cut his hair is because he starts

his new job today working with the State of DE .

Yep, he has a big guys job, 8-5, benefits, holidays and

maybe someday .....snow plow duties!

He is so excited!! Weekends off for fishing and the beach.

What is next in this young mans life??

We love you Wade and are very proud of you!!!!!

We had lots of young and "older" men and they were all hungry!

I maybe 51 but I still take a basket of eggs to die

Like some one just stuck it right through the tree. This angle doesn't really show it
but it is neat to see. I'll give you a hint... It is on Katie's land.

Once again the ugly black spot on my photo ops!

I could say it is a whale or something out in the Atlantic.

But actually these pics are from Aron's Polar Bear Plunge.

It was suppose to happen 2/8/10 but a major storm

came through and it was changed to 3/14/10.

A much nice day by far, a little hazy but a lot warmer!!

There was not much beach access in March. I don't know what they

will do with all the tourist that are soon to hit the beach areas.

We ran into Mrs. Lashora and her daughter Diane, Mrs. Lashora lives on the river and taught

in Millsboro. Her husband was a vet , Diane is a nurse. Mrs Lashora has to be in her 80's and has jumped for the past 10 years. She is amazing. She use to jump horses of a tall platform into

a pool in Atlantic city back in the 50's, Look it up it is a amazing story.

Now on the Aron.....

The walk to the beach. There were I think around 10,000 people jumping in.

The boardwalk was like the 4th of July with people.

Aron and Brett being directed to stay off the dunes.
duh,, you think that is why those guys in orange are standing every so many feet????

This is a look south on the beach.

They had the Lewes rescue boat and divers in the water.

The water was 42 degree and a little rough.

Redskins and St paddy's day. I am ready to jump!

The whistle finally blew and they are off!

Running out, I have never seen so much red skin on the beach in March.

Everyone was red from the cold water - not sunburn this time!

And it was over just like that! In and out they came, all

After everyone went home and the storm raged on
Aron and I sat up.
Thanks to Mike's text to me, I got my juices flowing.
I did what I could with what we had.
Streamers for fun, flowers for the spring to come.

Mom is 81 today. Last year she turned 80 in the hospital and this year she is snowed in
in someone else home. Although our home is open to all,
I know she would rather be in her own. She has been a great guest and
lots of fun. She has taken over the kitchen corner by the windows
for reading, tv and cards. This last storm has her wondering when she can get home.
Well the same answer applies, when we can get a path for her to walk to a car and dump her out at! Our neighbor Al has been kind to snow blow off her driveway -twice, so that part is covered.
However if you have been reading, our vehicles are pretty much stuck in our driveway.
Aron and Wade's are able to get out. Today we are dealing with blowing snow and drifts blocking the road. Just ask Katie! Yes she is home but I will let her tell that story.

You all know this home. One filled with much love and many many memories.
This week it sat empty only because we were afraid of loosing electric.
Thank you God!!! We have not so far. God is great!
The snow does not look like much but you can walk in anything from 1" to 12".

The lone truck. Dad would love this and would be out shoveling
his driveway until we came and hollered at him. But I am sure he would have bought a snow blower on this one!!

But we all owe this man a great big "THANK-YOU" for
all you have done for all of us!!! All the preparation he took for these storms, food, water, toliet paper, generator,gas, you name it, he was on the ball. Kyle is not just my rock but all of ours.
I Guess he is like the king with a harem ( I think he lost out on that end). He would and does anything we all might need.
He has provided our family and his extended family a wonder home.
I love you Kyle very much!!!!

Yes we are snowed in AGAIN!!!
These are the last pictures from last weekend.
Aron got his explorer out and was headed to the super bowl party.
Now his Explorer is at the end of the driveway awaiting
the time when he can leave again!

This is our Holly tree out back. It pretty much melted off yesterday.

As you can see -it warmed up yesterday a bit.
Now we are in another white out state of emergency, Katie stuck at work,
wind blowing -its crazy. Is this another Ground Hog day????

Or finally tally for our yard was 18", we will see what more we get today.

Superbowl Sunday. Katie made it although she was very sleepy!!
