I think I will break down our bluegrass post into 2 or three postings.
Just to keep you hanging.
Kyle and I arrived Sunday after deciding to leave Kim in Katies
hands. Sunday morning she realized her flight arrived in Salisbury
at 11:30 p.m. not a.m. So she decided to stay at our house until Tuesday when Kyle
came back for DTCC graduation night. Katie picked her up at the airport and brought her here.
All is well.
As you can see from this photo we were not in the flat lands of Delaware. Even though most campsites looked fairly level they weren't. They were very miss leading. And yes I was pulling a Nancy while we set up camp.
Ronnie and Kay arrived Monday right when it started to rain of course.
Getting his camper level was quite the entertainment for Kay and I.
It was a start to one of many laughter moments.
Nope this did not work either. Ronnie finally got out his super dooper jack and
jacked the trailer up.
The stage.
What we all liked about this festival is that it only had one stage with
music from 10 a.m. till 11 p.m. Thursday- Sunday.
Sunset from our campsite.
We had rain Monday, Tuesday and clear sunny hot weather there on.
Every now and then we could catch the internet working for us.
Every now and then Kyle would let Kim help. I was the gopher.
Kyle, Ronnie and Vernon were the cooks, Barb, Kay, Kim and I
were the setters and picker uppers. Kay and Barb do love to cook so they were in on that also.
Barb is a Paula Dean & Barb Bonner mix.
We arrived and set up our chairs. The we left them till it was time to come home.
It is a very laid back festival and the average age of 50 I would say.
There were generations of family's there. Someday we would like to take our boys.
I think this was 3rd Time Out playing.
Mountain Heart band. The boy in the back with the cap on
was an awesome guitarist! He was only 18! Man could he play!!
This is the local high school bluegrass band. They were very good too.
They started of the festivities Saturday.
Its so nice to see the tradition continue.
I guess I end here with Kyle. We had a wonderful time and want to go back. Trouble is
we have a major college function that is mandatory for all employees that same time.
We wrote letters asking special permission to miss it due to our 30th anniversary.
I wonder what we can dream up for next year???
