HAPPY 83rd BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!
We had a great time Saturday celebrating Mom's 83 years.
Of course it probably wasn't quite as exciting as I make it sound.
It was very quiet and enjoyable. Except I (I don't take full blame) forgot to put away the dumplings.
That did not go over to well the next morning.
It was just Katie, mom, Kyle, me, Wade, Jake, Emily & Luke.
We tried to skyp Pattie and Scott.
THAT was funny, not very good but funny!
Mom had the rocking chair reserved for a snow storm but settled for this.
She loved all her gifts, flowers and cards, she loves to get mail from all of you.
She had so many phone calls she sounded a little horse that night.
(she is fine)
The video is a result of being a Bell. I still have not figured out why it keeps
repeating over and over. I did not know it was going.
This is what I was trying to do.
Note the balloon and the kuzzie.
Nancy Lillian Slaight
Born in Geneseo NY 2/11/1929
She is a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, wife, neighbor, friend to all.
She went to college, worked for social services, married, raised a family, was a full time housewife,
cook, laundry chief bottle washer as dad would say. All with only one vehicles which dad took to work.
In Michigan dad got a company car, until then it was one. In Delaware she took her first job out of the house sense she married. She assisted a handicap boy and loved it, later she worked in a carpet store and drove a handicap bus and loved it. (was it us) She cared for her in laws after she brought them into her home. Finally she enjoyed getting the empty nest. Grandchildren arrived again she was "in the roll". Then she enjoyed retirement with dad. Then as we all dread, she sat everyday by his bedside while he fought to live. She continues to live each day sense with love, laughter and many many memories.
To get to my point. I gave mom a card that said she was an angel. She said that was not true.
I beg to differ.
She is always there, wrapping her arms around you, whether it is a smile, a hug, a laugh
or even the unhappy side.
She is the angel. She has her wings around our backs.
I love you mom.
