I am sure everyone else is probably having the same hot hot and dry weather as we are . We have not had a good rain in weeks. The storms just roll right around our house. The fields are looking terrible unless there is irrigation. Our yards are dust bowls or full of weeds. It just makes no sense to water it. So we water the important things. Like my flowers and Kyles garden.
This is how it started. Lots of hard work and sweat.
But boy does he love it!
Kyle had plotted out his plan and layed it all out.
This year he did a few things different.
First picking on Potatos.
They are "oh so good"!
This is in June. Kyle recruited Duane's help with the bean poles.
As every year Kyle is fighting the voles with his
Lima beans. They love to eat the roots!
He can get a little like Bill Murray ........
We also had some major trees cut down. This tree split a few years ago and with each
hurricane season it go worse. I was glad to see it go.
It could have landed on our bedroom in a storm.
This tree was by the turn around. When we walked Lady at night I would push on it.
I finally got it over.....
Back to the garden. This was one of Kyles different plans....
He planted his tomato's all close together. When we got back from vaction
they had really grown - into one huge group!
There is also a known snake in there.......
I have seen it! So has he!
Kyle planted celery. I had never actually seen it growing so I
knelt down to get a picture.
THAT is when the snake went by my foot!!
Yes I screamed and danced like a girl!!
But the best thing about Kyle gardening all these years is that the boys have an interest in it.
This is Clay's first yard garden. He was so excited when they bought their house
and he could have a garden in the ground and not in pots.
He reaps in the food and I reap in the glory.
It warms my heart and makes it smile to see & hear the little things from my children.
